Phlebotomy Technician
Welcome to the Phlebotomy Program at Eagle Nursing School! Our program is designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge required to excel in the field of phlebotomy. Through hands-on training and comprehensive coursework, students will learn the techniques of blood collection, specimen handling, and patient interaction, all within a supportive and professional learning environment.
Program Overview
This program is designed to prepare students for employment as phlebotomists or aiding in upgrading the skills of any medical professionals already practicing phlebotomy. The program prepares students to collect blood specimens from clients for the purpose of laboratory analysis. The program consists of 210 clock-hours and can be completed in 12 weeks.
Students will become familiar with all aspects related to blood collection and develop comprehensive skills to perform venipunctures completely and safely. The program is delivered in a blended format. Online course work includes terminology, anatomy and physiology, blood collection procedures, OSHA Safety Standards and career development, while the lab training teaches students the skills and techniques to perform puncture methods and includes lab exercises, work with a training arm and other exercises intended to prepare students to function as an entry level Phlebotomy Technician.
Upon completion of this program students will receive a Diploma.
